In the run up to publishing RockHeart, which I’m trying to tie-in with a trip to #Gibraltar I thought it would be nice to collate a few of the many comments I’ve had about my book, most of which have come from Gibraltarians at home and abroad. To all those who have commented, thank you so much, they have meant a great deal to me.

So many emotions well up when I think about Gib & living there as a kid in the 70’s. Families shouting over the closed border to each other. The old cars that just kept going, the trips to Morocco, Nuffield pool days, sailing in the flooded dry docks, fishing off eastern beach, the stunning med storms, playing football on shale, powdered milk, pictures at the old regal & most of all the uniqueness of life on the rock. I have been back and will go back again maybe to live but who knows. Gib is part of me.

Steve thank you for your comment and sharing those fabulous memories all of which also resonate with me too. I guess we were very privileged to have experienced all of these things and that we can both trip back to Gibraltar now and again to relive them. I remember writing one of my anecdotes when I went back in 2016 musing I was looking at a 2016 Rock through 1976 eyes! I loved Gib 1976 and loved Gib 2016 just as much. For you to possibly go back to live there sounds like the loveliest of ideas. I wish you the very best of everything if you achieve that!! Alan
